At your age, what is your goal? But, my immediate feeling is, ugh, greedy! This whole thing has fueled me to stay focused on my current career path, and my plan is to get my own place after this winter passes.

There are more things going on in your relationship with your mom if you are afraid she would be mad at you for kicking out your sister and not understanding. As a stay at home mom isn't equipped to re-enter the workforce and take care kids too. He is basically a good kid, high school athlete and graduate, works part time, pays for his car for which we co-signed , cell phone and insurance.

He lives at home and has a job although it is not the greatest job. Right now, he is single and hasn't had a gf in many years. I told him he has to move out but he says that he enjoys living at home. He says that if a girl wants to date him, she won't judge him for living at home. If she does, she is not the one. Peter Pan syndrome, or a man child. Sounds like he lives his life by excuses and will never take a chance. Same reason for his job, afraid to try and fail. Likes the comfort and ease he has. Let me guess, over weight as well? Living at home is the farthest reason why girls wont date him. No girl wants to date a guy thats just there, and then probably have to take care of him anyway by the sounds of it Apr 15th, 2013 2:11 pmI don't think his parents mind. Therefore, no matter how abnormal or wrong I personally find this, this really is only between those 2 parties involved. For the record I definitely think it's weird and that it'll have consequences for them both parents and child. Apr 15th, 2013 2:16 pmWho cares about what is considered normal? People should live their lives the way they want. The type of people that judge a 40 year old living at home are probably the same people that want to prevent gay people from getting married. A look into the crystal ball for you perhaps? Apr 15th, 2013 2:16 pmWho cares about what is considered normal? People should live their lives the way they want. The type of people that judge a 40 year old living at home are probably the same people that want to prevent gay people from getting married. I would never even consider dating a guy that was still living at home at 40. And I'm totally fine with gay people getting married. The only way I might be okay with a 40 year old living at home is if he had already moved out at some point... Then it would be an admirable quality in the guy, vs. That said, it's obviously an issue between him and his parents. If they're all okay with the situation, then who cares. But if your friend is actually hoping to one day meet a girl and get married - he's fooling himself into thinking that women would be okay with his current arrangement. He will likely spend the rest of his life alone well, not completely alone... Maybe he'll meet a nice widower once his parents die? So I guess it is ok but clearly the parents are enabling his actions and they are partially accountable for this. Personally, doesn't he want to try independence and enjoy the freedom of living on his own? To live by his rules and abide by his rules? Sure, maybe his parents are really easygoing and allow him to do his own stuff but it just isn't the same as living on your own, living by your own rules. Maybe he doesn't desire a gf..... However, the girl will probably want to live independently down the line and also want a man that can live on his own. Him living with his parents doesn't particularly promote this... Wouldn't a girl think that he is more financially responsible since he can save more money while living at home? What if he was living at home with 1 million in his bank account, preparing to purchase a large house sometime next year? I lived at home until age of 24 and I saved up alot of money for my age, around 40K. If I lived at home until 40, I could probably reach 1 million. Of course, I would sacrifice love life.

It seems that most of his friends are in relationships or married and his glad life revolves around them as he has no girlfriend. Do we all love this all the time. Whether you meet that person or not depends on your thinking and what you're prepared to do to find that person. She makes a point that she has been out there for two elements. He says he's afraid of living on his own. If you want to have the type of relationship with him where both people have to be adults and take on adult responsibilities-- I think you should keep looking. Child lives with parent, adult child lives with parent, this is anon scandalous news, I see the newspapers tomorrow conducting an investigation into this not, theirs bigger stories in the news then this, its not exactly ground breaking, like sending an astronaut to Jupiter, or finding a cure to aids or cancer, your middle aged once your over 42 year old man still living at home, middle sincere people should act with a bit of maturity and common sense. Where the social rules told us we had to be out of the house at 18 then we had to build our lives on our own.
